LASER
This is a traditional Metrologic
MS260 Mini-Slot Scanner as used in many department and
grocery stores across the
country. It incorporates a He Ne Gas Laser that
shoots a beam into various splitter and rotating mirror wheels to then project
it through the "A" shape slot as shown on the unit top. As the laser
beam "reads" bar codes, this information is translated into digital
information the cash register can use, identifying each product.
Although these
scanners have all been serviced and are ready for installation (you can plug
them into 115 vac and drag any bar code item over the window and it "beeps" after
reading the bar code), we think the bigger market is with the experimenter
that wants a low cost laser tube, power supply and support optics. Box dimensions
are 5" high x 11-1/2" x 9".
One strong feature of our flatbed
scanner over other surplus sources is that each of these have been serviced
by the factory and are ready for re-installation, with updated firmware.
They are
not "removed from service, condition unknown" like the rest!!!
Interconnect cables that you will
need if hookup to a register is intended are $10 each.
Order WAA-FBS. Our supply of this item is very limited. The total power
requirement is 115 / 230 vac, 23 watts, 47-63 Hz.
Original
purchaser paid $1,295 each.
Complete
manual of all dip switch settings, output formats and pin outs is available
for $5 each. UL listed and meets Laser Safety Codes, according to operating
manual. |
